We are looking for a driven Ophthalmologist on behalf of a leading healthcare organization specialized in ophthalmology, with a network of specialized eye care locations. Each year, general practitioners and optometrists refer tens of thousands of patients for examination, treatment, or eye surgery. With a large team of ophthalmologists and physician assistants, the organization provides high-quality, personalized eye care across multiple locations.
As an ophthalmologist, you play a crucial role in improving patients' quality of life. You'll have the unique opportunity to work across various facets of ophthalmology, such as cataract, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. The opportunities are diverse and span outpatient consultations, the operating room, and independent treatment rooms, allowing you to experience different aspects of ophthalmology and further develop your skills across various settings.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting consultations and examinations at the outpatient clinic
- Performing treatments and/or surgeries, including cataract surgery where desired
- Participating in patient discussions, clinic and department meetings
- Maintaining contact with referrers and colleagues
- Participating proportionally in on-call services for your own patients
Profile:
- Ophthalmologist with a current medical registration
- Proactive, driven, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong communication skills and an eye for market developments and innovation
- Comfortable maintaining relationships with referrers and colleagues
- A subspecialty and affinity for management are a plus
- Available for a minimum of 18 hours per week; working days in consultation
