Ir. Peter Morel becomes the new CEO of Osimis, Dr. Sergey Morozov joins soon as CIO, after Cédric Constant successfully pivoted the company

Liège, April 28, 2022. The Board of Directors of Osimis has appointed ir. Peter Morel, MBA as new CEO. "After having raised €1.6 million in early February, we are welcoming Peter, with his strong experience in developing complex international collaboration models in a fast evolving market of IT solutions helping companies to adopt emerging digital technologies”.

Peter has more than 30 years of professional experience in software solutions sales and alliance building, in international and growth environments: Siemens Atea, Compaq, Amdocs. He is a co-founder of Xenit Solutions, a Smart Content Management solutions provider and integrator, servicing customers in Europe, USA and Asia/Australia. He holds a Vlerick MBA and a Master Degree Civil Engineering in software from the University of Ghent.

Cedric Constant leaves the company to join a venture capital fund as an entrepreneur-in-residence to build and scale a new health tech start-up. He says: “I am proud of what we have achieved with the team, repositioning the company on the very promising imaging AI market, and offering radiologists the imaging AI operating system (OS) of the future. The traction we’ve got so far, with a fast-growing number of customers and prospects clearly demonstrates the potential of the model and the quality of the execution by the team. I warmly thank the team and wish them all the best in continuing these developments.”

Osimis welcomes as well Dr. Sergey Morozov, MD, PhD, MPH who shall join very soon as full-time Chief Innovation Officer (CIO). Sergey is a well-known expert in Europe and the U.S., having been president of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII). He served previously as CEO of the Diagnostics and Telemedicine Center in Moscow, leading the biggest EMEA regional RIS deployment, establishing the largest municipal teleradiology center and orchestrating an array of AI services integration into routine clinical workflow of a hundred hospitals. He is relocating to Belgium with his family. He says: ”I am honored to join the Osimis team at the center of Europe in order to further develop imaging informatics at the international level, to leverage radiologists’ practice by integrating augmented intelligence and to transform healthcare practices in the directions of efficiency and highest quality.”

The management team is therefore reinforced besides co-founder Frédéric Lambrecht as Chief Business Development Officer and Prof. Dr. Erik Ranschaert, MD, PhD and AI Radiology Expert, as part-time Chief Medical Officer, and also a past president of EuSoMII.

Osimis was founded in 2015 around the original free and open-source project "Orthanc" led by its designer Prof. Sébastien Jodogne, PhD in Computer Science. Sebastien remains a shareholder and advisor to the company while being an Assistant Professor at UCLouvain, dedicated to Computer science applied to life sciences.

Ir. Peter Morel is starting in his new role on May 2nd. The transition will be carried out in close cooperation with Cédric Constant.
