Market Acces Manager

Job description

Purpose of Market Acces Job:

  • Obtain and maintain market access for products in Belgium & Luxembourg 

  • Develop strategy, implement market access processes and provide technical expertise in Health Technology Appraisal submissions 

  • Build and maintain relationships with health economic and other relevant opinion leaders as well as reimbursement agencies 

  • Work in collaboration with VA&P Senior Manager to understand, implement and where possible influence policies to create optimal business environment for products
  • Responsible for adopting the global market access materials (e.g. value dossiers, cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models) 

  • Provide – in close collaboration with marketing, medical, KAM and sales colleagues – support and guidance to field based activities.
  • Initiate the most effective strategy to obtain market access for products in Belgium & Luxembourg by managing timely preparation, 
submission and follow-up of pricing and reimbursement files 

  • Propose and implement the agreed local market access strategy until reimbursement and during the life cycle of the product by working 
closely with R&D, Medical, Marketing & Sales to secure broad product access for new and existing product portfolio 

  • Take leadership of Health Technology Appraisal (HTAs) in Belgium and Luxembourg in close collaboration with Medical and Marketing 
colleagues 

  • Value evidence generation in scope of dossiers and publications 

  • Customize cost effectiveness models and budget impact models for local decision makers and collect data 

  • Map local payers and access influencing networks 

  • Develop & roll out an engagement strategy with key payers and other relevant opinion leaders (e.g. advisory boards, face-to-face meetings) 
to support market access activities 

  • Support reimbursement/pricing negotiations with payers 

  • Provide input for local requirements in the Global Value Dossier & payer plan 

  • Liaise with EU and global colleagues to create a strong relationship and defend the BeLux interest 

  • Keep EU and global colleagues informed about and seek support on all ongoing submissions
  • Communicate competitive intelligence at the level of price & reimbursement to the product team members 


Purpose of VBHC Coordinator Job:

  • Responsible for the value based health care (VBHC) strategy across the affiliate, ensure the coordination and evaluation of value-added services (VAS), VBHC solutions and value-based partnerships (VBP) 

  • Provide support and guidance for set-up and roll-out of VAS, VBHC solutions and VBP to local Commercial, Medical, Regulatory and Value, Access & Policy teams and ensure cross-functional collaboration with other departments 

  • Lead the governance process (local & HQ level) of VBHC projects (including contract preparation) as endorsed by the VA&P Lead and the management team and in accordance with the requirements of the Global and Zug teams 

  • Be responsible for the submissions to Global or European VBHC teams 

  • Accountable for the development of capabilities in the affiliate: training, best practices sharing and methodology evolution 

  • Be single point of contact for local, Europe & Global VBHC team
  • Proposes and puts in place processes to define BeLux VBHC strategy and implement the action plan
  • Ensures the coordination and evaluation of VAS, VBHC solutions and VBP: 

  • Validate cross functional DOE budget, time & resource allocation and reporting in agreement with VA&P Lead and the management team, while 
monitoring and supporting optimization of the DOE budgets, time & resource allocation of the individual projects managed by the PrOs Ensures 
the capabilities are developed through trainings, best practices sharing, updates, internal communication 

  • Partnering with the VBHC Managers in other countries 

  • Be single point of contact for local, Europe and Global VBHC teams and liaise with EU and global colleagues to create a strong relationship and 
defend the BeLux interest 

  • Competitive intelligence and knowledge of programs of competitors and of health care evolutions in Belgian & Luxembourg and anticipating 
future trends and opportunities by proactively developing plans to address these and communicate them to senior management 

Skills and personality
  • Degree in Science with a good sense of business understanding and strategic thinker 

  • In depth knowledge of health care environment in Belgium & Luxembourg 

  • Experience in the management of multiple tasks/projects/priorities to propose innovative solutions 

  • Strong cross-functional leadership within the organization and ability to drive and influence peers in complex (matrix) organization 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch since all submissions need to be done in the Dutch language. In addition good verbal communication skills in English & French 

  • Value-based negotiation skills and convincing communication style 

  • Resilient and solid personality 

  • Well organized and structured
  • A degree or experience in Health Economics would be an advantage 

  • Interest in innovative/digital initiatives 

  • Eagerness to explore and anticipate future trends and opportunities in industry and health care environment 

  • Relationship with key national payers and other relevant opinion leaders
